Traditional Makkum handpainted decorative pottery and factory-made tiles, factory goes back to 1594 1594 with tin glazed crude pottery/stoneware. 1674 first Tichelaar F. Jans, generation after generation. Since 1963 Tichelaars produces cups and saucers of the (take over)  Stenen Kater, since 1965 of Pottery Factory Vermeulen, Adopted Lucie Q. Bakker's dinnerware production. Since 1978 small series of vases, Oar Wurk. The factory has the Royal title since 1960, Koninklijke Tichelaar Makkum.
